L.O:  To explore the concept and format of news.

Types of news: 

crime, sport, science, climate, health, cost of living, family, education ,war, business, health, celebrity.

-crime: Urgent search for baby as couple arrested.

-cost of living: Money Diary ' I have 25p left in my bank account'.

-sport: Smith left out of the England squad as Ford returns.

Fake news: False information used to shape your views opinions or ideas.

The information is often exaggerated heavily biased or simply not true.

It is often misleading.

It can also be known as propaganda.

"NYC coroner who declared the death of Jeffrey Epstein a suicide made half a million dollars a year working for the Clinton Foundation until 2015"

what happened? Climate change is making sea levels rise/effecting nature
who was involved? People that are generating fossil fuels
where did it take place? UK (focussing on Cornwall)
when did it happen? 800,000 years ago - now
why did it happen? We needed electricity
how did it happen? We are burning to much coal/oil

Anchor for bodmin jail fire: Good evening, 2 people were rushed to the hospital last night after a devastating fire destroyed the newly refurbished bodmin jail. The fire started at 11:15pm yesterday and it took 3 fire engines until 6:15am to to extinguish the fire. The main cell block is damaged and PC Smith states that ' the damage to the historic building will take weeks and millions of pounds to repair 6 people were rescued from the burning building and one of the two people sent to the hospital are suffering from serious burns. 23 seconds

Anchor introduction (draft) : Good evening this is Ella-May and Gracie, climate change is effecting Cornwall's sea levels as they are estimated to rise from around 20-100cms by the end of the century, although  areas around Cornwall are prone to flooding du to this.

climate change info for main story: 
  • The highest potential sea level rises around the UK by the end of the century
  • The possibility of more high impact flooding. For example like the floods in Boscastle (2004) and Coverack (2017)
  • Stronger storms and higher wind speeds
  • Faster coastal erosion
  • More heatwaves and severe droughts.

Main story:  Climate change is causing Cornwall's sea levels to rise by around 1 metre by the end of the century which could create the possibility of more high impact flooding. Areas like Boscastle and Coverack may become more prone to flash floods and coastal erosion over the next century. Cornwall's sea levels could potentially be the highest rising sea levels around the UK due to the climate change crisis.
