Genre- a style, especially in the arts, that involves a particular set of characteristics.

Hybrid- mixture of two or more genres. 

Sub genre- categories that a genre can be divided into.

Main genre conventions: a magic system, well developed setting, a cast of complex characters, good vs evil, 

Famous fantasy directors: Tim Burton, Duncan Jones, Peter Jackson, Terry Gilliam, Walt Disney, Robert Zemeckis. 

Fantasy film actors: Emma Watson, Madeline McGraw, Jonny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Lily James.

450 Best fantasy movie posters ideas in 2022 | movie posters, good movies, movies

All these posters fairly dark colour. Something all the titles have in common is that they have a dark gold/black  title and the font is a cursive medieval font. They also have the main character on the poster. Theres also some action going on in the posters. 

A film out of these 3 that i think teenagers would watch is beauty and the beast because there is romance in it and a few cliff hangers which is enjoyable.

LO: To implement genre codes and conventions.

RECIPE FOR FANTASY FILM TRAILER

Ingredients: fairytale setting, bright colours, young woman/girl as main character, mythical creatures, slow movement, dreamy, no violence, calm music.

Method:

1. Have a bored little girl enter a dreamy location by accident.

2. The place is very bright and quiet and she explores the forest that she started in she sees lots of strange animals and one of them asks if shes lost, she answers with a yes they start talking and become frieds.

3. The creature tells her that the magical land is in danger and they need her help.

04/10/2022  Media language analysis        L.O:  To analyse a pice of text using media language.    The shot type used is medium long shot. I think they have used this type of shot to show the parts of his body that tell us what this movie is going to be about like his hands as he wearing gloves and has a gun in his hand. They also made sure that his head was in the shot so you can get his facial expressions as they tell us about how the characters will be shown.  The clothing suggests to me that he is going to be active but still very serious and also to fit in. The gloves tell me that he possibly does not want to get caught if he does a crime (covering his finger prints).  The props in this advert is a gun in his right hand which tells me that this is going to be a violent movie and people are going to get shot. The background is plain so they draw attention to to only the character.  Gunshots and explosions were kept in the trail...
