It has also been made to look very serious with a close up of his face and it is not very colourful. in “Luther”, the costumes of characters play a significant role in conveying their personalities and the themes of the show, for example if you look at the difference between John Luther and Alice Morgan. for example, Luther wears a dark suit often complimented by a long coat his clothing is practical yet stylish reflecting his role as a detective this shows authority and professionalism the tailored suit signify his position as a detective. Establishing shot, it is usually the shot in the start of a new scene as it shows us where the scene is happening and what time of day. Wide shot is the shot that shows the space between a subject and their surroundings Mid shot is where the shot is just above the waist and the head and shows the current characters in a certain place. Medium close up is chest up it just wants to focus on the current characters emotions, facial expressions and action without distractions. The close up just focusses on the characters face to see their facial expressions and emotions. Extreme close up shot just focusses on one part of the body to show whats going on.
