Media language analysis L.O: To analyse a pice of text using media language.
The shot type used is medium long shot. I think they have used this type of shot to show the parts of his body that tell us what this movie is going to be about like his hands as he wearing gloves and has a gun in his hand. They also made sure that his head was in the shot so you can get his facial expressions as they tell us about how the characters will be shown.
The clothing suggests to me that he is going to be active but still very serious and also to fit in. The gloves tell me that he possibly does not want to get caught if he does a crime (covering his finger prints).
The props in this advert is a gun in his right hand which tells me that this is going to be a violent movie and people are going to get shot.
The background is plain so they draw attention to to only the character.
Gunshots and explosions were kept in the trailer because it makes the movie seem dramatic and dangerous. There was also a car screeching because it was going incredibly fast which shows us that they were possibly being chased.
The fade to black transitions are used between scenes to show the time passing because in the trailer its not all happening in order. The pace of the cuts get faster as well as it creates more action and suspense.

In the tenet trailer they used the dramatic music because they want to create suspense and make you want to watch the film to see what is going to happen.
In the Dune trailer, camerawork is used efficiently to show what locations the characters are at. For example when they all arrive at the sandy location there is an establishing shot where it shows the watcher where they are and how they got there. The director has chose to use camerawork when a new character or prop is introduced. When this happens they use a close up so you can see exactly what or who it is.
In the dune trailer, editing is used to match the transitions with the sound to create suspense and make it more dramatic so you want to watch the movie. For example when one of he characters is running away from something scary the music speeds up. It also stops when a character is thinking/working something out then when it starts again it almost gives you a jump scare when the character works something out.
The camera shot in this scene from The Black Phone trailer is a mid shot. The director has chosen this shot to show this characters confusion as that phone doesn't work but it just rang. And so you can see that he has the phone up to his ear.
